Political Readings of the Week (weekly)

  • 2012 offers nothing like the ecstasy of taking part in a historical advance: the reĆ«lection of the first African-American President does not inspire the same level of communal pride. But the reĆ«lection of a President who has been progressive, competent, rational, decent, and, at times, visionary is a serious matter. The President has achieved a run of ambitious legislative, social, and foreign-policy successes that relieved a large measure of the human suffering and national shame inflicted by the Bush Administration. Obama has renewed the honor of the office he holds.

    • Mr. President, your prep for the next debate need not consist of anything more than learning to pronounce three words: “Governor, you’re lying.”
  • Big Bird is the man. He’s 8 feet tall. He can sing and roller skate and ride a unicycle and dance. Can you do that, Mr. Romney? I’m not talking about your fox trot away from the facts. I’m talking about real dancing.

The Rumble 2012: Bill O'Reilly vs Jon Stewart (Full)

Sharing Political Links in Absentia

Since I haven't been posting to this blog for some time, except for the occasional political bookmark in the right sidebar, I decided to set Diigo to auto-post my political links as weekly blog posts. I have not had much time to keep up with things, since I am in nursing school full-time, but the auto posts should at least give some interesting reading! (If anyone but me actually reads this blog - ha)

Enjoy!
